Ingredients required for preparing Sago Pretzels:

  1. Rice flour- 2 cups
  2. Fried gram (Vepina senega Pappu) flour – ½ Cup
  3. Red Chilli powder – 2 to 3 Table Spoons
  4. Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  5. Salt – As required
  6. Curd – 1 glass

Preparation method:

  1. Before starting to prepare this, soak the sabudana or Sago or Saggu biyyam in curd for 2 hours
  2. Now take rice flour, roasted chana dal (fried gram) flour, cumin seeds, Chilli powder, soaked Sago (Saggu biyyam)  and salt into a bowl.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of hot oil into it and mix all these ingredients for 3-5 min
  4. Then add some water and make it become like a dough. (Note that don’t pour so much of water at a time)
  5. Put this mixture into a pretzel piece and press it on a paper.
  6. Take one litre of oil in a bowl. Wait for 5-7 mins to become it hot. 
  7. Put the sago pretzels into oil and wait for 5-10 mins. When the pretzels turn into golden color take it out off from the bowl. Now the crunchy and soft sago pretzels are ready to serve
  8. These can be stored for three to four months
